Family portrait photography is about collaboration, having real fun together, identifying that special element that makes you tick as a family, and then translating this into photographs.
I define “family” as the unit of people you love, and that looks like something different for everyone. If you want to capture beautiful memories with the people you love—whoever they are and for whatever reason—I want to help you preserve those memories through photos.
If you have children, know that I find them particularly fun to work with. I try not to spend too much energy forcing them to pose or behave in an un-childlike way—better, I believe, to create a situation in which they feel at ease and free to be themselves. The shots I'm most proud of are the ones in which I’ve captured the whimsicality of a child's world.
Even for my adult clients, the camera should almost be forgotten, leaving room for more spontaneous and genuine moments to arise. That’s where the magic happens.
